Welcome to the RACV Bridge Club

RACV Club Members and their guests are always welcome to join us in the wonderful game of contract bridge.

The RACV Bridge Club provides the opportunity to meet and interact with like-minded Members through the game of contract bridge. The Club is affiliated with the Australian Bridge Federation (Club 3442) so to conduct masterpoint competitions, and to provide Members with access to the wider Australian community of competition bridge players. 

The Bridge Club offers Supervised Duplicate incorporating a short lesson on Monday morning, a Duplicate session Wednesday morning and a Beginner+ program on Wednesday afternoon for those that have completed the Beginner Lesson Program. There are regular Inter-club Challenges and the RACV Bridge Club Congress is held annually in August.

All Bridge sessions are in the Members Club Room on Level 2.  This room has capacity of 15 tables in each session.  Please note that all morning sessions start at 10am

BOOKINGS ARE REQUIRED for all sessions. Bookings for each session open at 1:15pm one week prior to the next session (or two weeks if there is a public holiday in between). For any queries members should contact RACV Club Events via email clubevents@racv.com.au.

The Bridge Club meets at the RACV City Club, 501 Bourke Street, Melbourne, and operates as an RACV Club Member Interest Group, within the Rules and by-laws of the RACV.

So you'd like to play Bridge!

The RACV Bridge Club welcomes RACV Members and their guests to join us and play this wonderful game.

Experienced players can simply book either Monday or Wednesday Sessions from the Bookings Tab.  Note that players must arrange a partner prior to booking.

New players or beginners can join the Beginner Program before joining a competitive session.  Details can be found here

The Monday supervised play offers a path for players  to improve their bridge game in a social duplicate session.

Reminder

Bridge is as friendly as the players, and it’s important to be a good partner and opponent.
Introduce your partner and yourself to the opponents at the start of each round.
Thank your partner when she puts down the dummy.
Wish the opponents good luck before you start the game.
Don’t get upset about a bad result — you get to start fresh with the next 13 cards.
Successful partnerships will discuss difficult hands and situations where something went wrong after the session in private.
